Child mental health initiative given a two-year boost

The Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced a two-year extension of $46 million to a national child and youth mental health initiative that includes a focus on the early years.

The funding is designed to promote positive mental health across the entire education spectrum, from the early years to high school.

In the early childhood education space, the program is supported by KidsMatter and Early Childhood Australia through the organisation beyondblue’s National Education Initiative.

The funding announcement ensures that the Initiative will continue through to at least June 2021.

Early childhood educators and leaders can find out more about KidsMatter here.
