COAG has announced that a second full review of the National Quality Framework will be undertaken, commencing immediately.
The Education Council, made up of Education Ministers from the Federal, State and Territory Governments, announced the new review on Friday.
In a statement, the Council said that the new review “will consider a number of issues impacting the early childhood education and care sector including recommendations arising from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse as they relate to the NQF and services regulated under the NQF and recommendations arising from Education Council’s Family Day Care program of work.”
The first review of the NQF was conducted between 2014 and 2017, and resulted in significant changes to the National Quality Standard and key National Laws and Regulations.
A timeframe has not been set for the new review, although the Council have stated that consultations will begin in early 2019.
